Dear Contour,
I said I wanted black
But they brought home champagne.
They wouldn't take you back
Much to my disdain.
Since I didn't have a say
In color, make or style
I drove you anyway
Racking up the miles.
You were always there;
You never let me down.
Your mpg was fair
As we traveled around town.
But I talked of better cars,
In fact I often ranted
Of how I'd trade you in
I had taken you for granted.
I remember still the jar
On that fateful day.
I crashed you, my dear car,
Then watched you towed away.
You had protected me
As well as my four friends
I owe you an apology;
I will make amends.
As soon as you return
From Nick's Auto Body Shop
You will quickly learn
Your status will not drop.
So until we meet again
(and I can hardly wait)
Remember my dear friend
I've learned to appreciate
YOU!
Sincerely,
Jesse
