I’ve lost another of my CDs and I’m pretty sure I’ll never find it again. How can I be so sure? Well, the kids usually take my CDs and for some reason, I never see them again. If this one shows up, I’ll be surprised.

I used to have all my music on my iRiver MP3 player but I gave that to Jesse. I figured he could use it more than I could since he works outside and doesn’t even have a CD player in his work car. So Maggie loaded it up with all his favorite songs and he took it back to Hawaii with him.

I did notice Nick’s player in the kitchen drawer this morning. I wonder if he’ll notice if I “borrow” it for a few days.

Well, it’s over for another year and once again I didn’t attend. It’s been going on for 30 years and yet, I’ve never been there. I need to resolve to get to the next Jamboree In The Hills.

Way back in 1977, Johnny Cash appeared along with his wife June Carter Cash, Barbara Mandrell, Merle Haggard, Tom T. Hall and Freddy Fender among others. It was a two day music festival back then but it’s grown to a 4 day country music extravaganza. This year, besides current hot stars like Toby Keith, Brad Paisley and Neal McCoy, Friday night was a southern rock oldies feast with The Outlaws, .38 Special, The Marshall Tucker Band, and The Charlie Daniels Band. Even my husband, who is not at all a fan of concerts of any type, commented that he’d have liked to be there for that.

And today, just before Neal McCoy wrapped it all up with his usual high energy performance, Sawyer Brown put on one hell of a show. Lead Singer Mark Miller still has that voice that makes me weak in the knees. And of course, he held on till the very end to do “Some Girls Do,” my favorite Sawyer Brown song.

I’m not a camping person and country music isn’t my favorite, but all those old bands playing this year really got me thinking about JITH and how fortunate I am to live so close to the event. I really ought to get over there next year. I’m sure if we plan ahead, we can reserve a camper for the week so we won’t have to “rough it” in a tent. Yes, a camper will work.

Anyone else want to make plans to attend next year?

When I was young, my mom bought a used piano and let me take lessons. My instructor was a friend of my dad who taught me as a favor. He played beautifully but I’m not sure if he had ever taught before. After about a year, the lessons stopped although I don’t remember why. I loved playing the piano but I don’t think I was very good. No, I take that back. I know I wasn’t very good.

Of course, that never stopped me from playing the piano every so often and it doesn’t stop me from wanting a piano now. I’ve mentioned to my husband several times that I’d like to find a used piano since we definitely have the room. He doesn’t usually respond to that suggestion so I figure one day he’ll come home from work and find a piano in the living room near the fireplace.

That day may be here sooner than he thinks. I’ve just found a website that offers Free piano lessons email newsletter for adults on “Piano Chords & Chord Progressions”. I’m so excited that I may actually learn to play the piano now!

The lessons are emailed out in a newsletter every 5 days or so. There are 101 lessons in all. Imagine that! This isn’t just a month of email lessons; it’s an entire series of lessons developed by pianist Duane Shinn. It’s especially geared toward adults who want to learn piano but already have very busy lives. Hey! That’s me!

Although the lessons are free, and you’re under no obligation to purchase a single thing, you do have the option of buying a variety DVDs and CDs to help you progress even faster. Mr. Shinn is the author of over 500 books, CDs and DVDs on the subject of piano playing which would explain his knickname: pianoman.

This is such a wonderful opportunity to be taught by someone who plays so beautifully and has so much experience teaching as well. I’m just amazed that this is being offered for free.

I really need to scan the classifieds this weekend. With free lessons, there’s no reason not to invest in a piano for my living room.

This is my favorite Meme, ever. It’s an old one, from way back in 2001, but it’s still the best. And it’s lots of fun!

So, here’s the scoop. Answer each question with a lyric from a song. If you know the name of the song or the artist of the lyrics I’ve listed, add them in the comments. Or just take some wild guesses!

1.) Are you male or female?:
…the most she will do is throw shadows at you but she’s always a woman…

2.) Describe your neighborhood:
this is just a little peyton place….

3.) How do you look?:
brown eyed girl

4.) If you could say something to the person you like, what would it be?
Give me your heart make it real or lets forget about it.

5.) Where do you wish you were right now?
on the shores of Hanalei

6.) What would you say to your best friend?:
You know I’d like to see more of you but it’s all I can do to be a mother

7.) Any words of wisdom:
And in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make.

8.) Describe yourself:
Though sometimes it seems she ain’t worth the trouble at all
she can be worth the world if somehow you can touch her at all.

9.) What do you think of drugs and alcohol?:
No, no, no, no I don’t smoke it no more, I’m tired of waking up on the floor

10.) If you could say one thing to your enemy, what would it be?:
If you told me you were drowning, I would not lend a hand….
…so you can wipe off that grin, I know where you been. It’s all been a pack of lies.

11.) What do you usually do on Friday nights?:
I go to sleep and imagine that you’re there with me

12.) Are you for world peace?:
I love the world and if I have to sue for custody, I will sue for custody

13.) What do you think about school?:
we were just young and restless and bored

14.) How do you feel right now?:
I feel ugly but I know I still turn you on

15.) Any closing words?:
Though I’m content with myself sometimes I long to be somewhere else.

And now I tag:

Okay, I’m going to try this one more time.

I love the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I saw them last summer with my son and two of his friends. It was a great concert. I have Californication and Mother’s Milk. I had BloodSugarSexMagic. Jesse borrowed my car after which I could not find the CD. When I did locate it, it was cracked in three pieces. Several months later, a very dear friend burned a copy of it for me. I was thrilled. I loaned my car to my nephew. The CD turned up missing (along with my Nellie CD). He said it was stolen.

Okay, someone did not steal the other CD’s, the cell phone, the CD player, the speakers…..just two CDs, one homemade. That makes sense. Sure.

So yesterday, I stopped to pick up the new They Might Be Giants CD. (Yes, I love it.) The temptation to get my favorite RHCP CD was too great; I could not resist. I bought it. I told Jesse and Hoot that when they are using my car, they are to protect that CD with their lives.

If it turns up missing, broke, scratched or otherwise unusable, heads will roll!
