Tiny Dancer

First she walked, then she ran. Now she’s dancing!

Kendyll has started to dance while she’s watching Dora. When Dora and Boots dance, Kendyll does, too. It’s amazing how quickly she’s advancing. Did my kids do that? It’s been so long I can hardly remember that they even were babies!

I’m hoping Jesse calls later so I can tell him about Kendyll dancing. Kendyll really got attached to Jesse and of course, Jesse loves babies. He taught her to clap and now she’s dancing!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, genius skips a generation. My granddaughter is a genius!

  • January 10, 2007

It’s that time of year, bloggers. Time to get out and nominate your favorite blogs for the 7th annual Weblog Awards.

Two catagories have been eliminated and two new ones have been added. You can nominated in every catagory if you’d like. You have to include your email address and you’re allowed to nominate only once.

This is mostly a prestige award. Only the final four catagories get a prize: 2007 cents (or $20.07). Nevertheless, the winners are some of the best blogs around. After you submit your nominations, check out the winners from the first weblog awards. How many do you think are still around?

PokerJunkie Gives You An Edge

We’re a card playing family. My mom and dad, my grandparents, my aunts and uncles and cousins and everyone in my house loves cards. Want to get beat at Poker? Pull up a chair and we’ll take care of that!

I can’t wait for the next all-nighter. I’ve got an advantage now. I’ve found the best Poker site online. PokerJunkie is going to help me to become good enough to beat all my sons and my husband, too. And maybe even my mom.

Just because I love information, I headed first to the Articles page and then jumped over the online poker dictionary. I had to force myself to click away from there so I could see what other treasures were hidden within the pages of PokerJunkie but I’ll be back to read more, that’s for sure.

If you’re looking for some interactive poker chat, head over to the PokerJunkie forums. That’s the heart of the community, in my opinion. Lots of great people talking poker. You’ll definitely want to join in the conversations there.

Probably the most useful part of the site would have to be either the Reviews or the tournament listings. Who better to let you in on the truth about all the various poker sites than those who have actually played at them? I love user reviews for their honesty. And they almost always save me a lot of time and mistakes. The tournaments are listed so that you save time there, too. One page to let you know all the details about the World Series of Poker. There’s even a great Guide to the WSOP written by Owen Laukkanen. A must-read, for sure.

If you’re a poker player like my family and me, then do check out PokerJunkie.com. It’ll give you an edge.

Backgammon, Anyone?

  • by Marisa
  • January 8, 2007

I learned to play backgammon when I was 21 years old. I’d been playing Checkers, Chess, Chinese Checkers and loads of other games since I was just a kid. I even learned to play pinochle when I was just 7 years old. But I never learned to play backgammon.

My friend Big Ed taught me to play. He’d been my friend for many years and remained my friend even after I was married. My husband and I considered him part of our family. Back then, money was tight so we spent a lot of time playing board games at home. We had playoffs and tournaments. Those were tough times but we made them fun.

Now I can play backgammon online. How cool is that? Oh, and the software is a free download, too.

Boost Your Karma

I’m a believer in Karma. I try very hard not to hurt others because I truly believe that whatever you send out into the world comes back to you. You know, for every action there’s an opposite and equal reaction. I think that applies to the spiritual realm as well.

And now I’ve found a site that lets me monitor my karma and makes me smile, too. I’ve just spent way too much time having fun at ImproveYourKarma.com. Sven Goodsson is an amazing guy who has spent his life improving his karma. Now he’s helping others to do the same.

You can monitor your karma with his karma meter or analyze your karma with his analyzer. Of course I loved the monitor that showed my karma to be awesome, based on my myspace profile. And I’m loving the Karma equalizer. This site has a great message of doing good but it’s loads of fun, too. I can’t wait to show my kids this one.

Now, when you check out Sven and his karma site, be sure to click on the “Get Yours Today” Icon in the lower left corner. That’s how to get a Motorola RED phone to help support the RED charity founded by Bono of U2 to fight AIDS in Africa. There’s even a sidebar to explain how buying the Motorola RED phone will help your karma.

This guy is great. Go there and bookmark it now!
