Tomorrow afternoon, Brian will be here. Tomorrow night, Brian will sleeping in our bed. And someone else is going to be displaced and very unhappy. The poor dear will not know what to do or where to sleep.
Tonight, though, all is well. One last night in my bed, just look how content.

Poor Bella!

Oh, this really makes me angry! I took Maggie and Levi to the mall the other day and we had a great time. Levi got new shoes and Maggie got a mini makeover and some makeup. I wanted to pick up a few new chew toys for Belle and maybe a new collar.
So imagine my surprise when I pulled into the shopping center where I always buy my pet supplies only to discover the store isn’t there anymore! That’s right, it closed down.
Now I have to find someplace else I like as much. I don’t really care for the big chains so this won’t be an easy task. Darn, I hate when that happens!

Oh, Bella Donna!

I love my dog. I really do. I think she’s beautiful and smart and loyal. I even let her sleep in my bed while my husband is gone. (Shhhhh! Don’t let him find out!)
Today, though, Belle really made me angry! I had to take Brit to work because her car is being repaired and I need mine this afternoon. So Kendyll and I took her to work. Belle waited at home, as she always does.
When I got home, Belle was at the side door, ears back and tail between her legs. Yes, she knows when she screws up. I took just two steps into the house when I saw it: the garbage was ripped apart and spread across the kitchen, dining room and into the family room.
I’m talking about dirty diapers and coffee grounds, here. This was not a pretty site. Add to that the fact that I always must rush to the bathroom when I walk in the door and that Kendyll was really fascinated by the trash on the floor, and you’ve got the makings of one very very PO’d woman.
After I used the bathroom (taking Kendyll with me), I came back and scolded Belle. I made her sit on the couch while I cleaned up the mess. She got down from the couch and I put her right back there. I scolded her again and made her wait until I said she could get off the couch.
I let her outside for a while and now she’s sitting in the living room looking all sad, like no one loves her. I wouldn’t have been as angry if I’d forgotten to fill her food and water bowls. But I did remember and she hadn’t even touched the food!
Dogs. She’s lucky I love her so much.

Pssst! Can You Keep A Secret?
- by Marisa

This is one of those confessions. You just have to promise not to tell my husband. I think he probably knows but I’ll never admit it.
Since Brian has been in Hawaii, Belle, our Pit Bull, has been sleeping in my bed. She’s so smart that she knows which side of the bed she’s allowed on (and it’s not my side). She’s better at staying on her own side than Brian is.
Brian doesn’t like dogs in bed. Of course, when Brian is in the bed, there isn’t much room for Belle. Brian tends to travel around the bed quite a bit. So this has to be kept a secret. Let’s just hope that when Brian comes home, Belle doesn’t forget his rules and jump into the bed. That would be hard to explain.

My boy is home

I picked Jesse up at the airport this morning. It took everything out of me not to cry when I saw him. I sure did miss him.
I was going to take him out to eat but he said he just wanted to go home and see Belle. The thing is, even with all these people in this house, Belle belongs to Jesse and me. He took me to see the litter of pups and he picked Belle out from 14 adorable little pitties. Jesse named her, too. Even though I took care of her most of the time while he was going to college, Jesse is the alpha male.
I told Jesse that he had to wait in the car until I came to the window because I had to get my camera ready. I wanted pictures of the two of them. I’m not sure which one was more excited.:)

Have you ever seen such pure joy in a dog’s face before?

All is good.
