I almost forgot to mention this. On Saturday, I had the most unbelievably relaxing foot massage! It was great.
Carrie is just a tiny thing but her hands are powerful and she was so very nice, too. I just love massages and I do know a good one when I get it. This was good. My feet didn’t hurt for two full days.
Carrie is trying to get her business up and running, too. The website she has is in dire need of work; she doesn’t even have any ecommerce software running. I’ve offered to help her with it but I’m a little stuck. She uses dreamhost so there is no fantastico. I’ve been trying to install zen cart but so far I just keep getting MySQL errors. Wonder if I can talk her into moving the site to Bluehost?
I’ll share the link to the site just as soon as I get it running. Then you’ll be able to look at the most beautiful handmade jewelry, using precious metals and gemstones, than you’ve ever seen! Stay tuned.

Did I mention how relaxed Brian looked in Hawaii? Well, he did. He went to work each morning in a really great mood and came home just for lunch still happy. And when the guys were done with work and came back to the house for supper, everyone sat around and laughed and talked.
So very unlike home.
I think the biggest difference for Brian is not having to worry about so many things on the job. He still has responsibility but it’s limited to the actual work being done. Back home, Brian had to worry about every little detail. Like the time someone complained about the noise of the mortar mixture which prompted a safety official to show up and inspect every detail of the job. Most of the infractions were small but Brian was not happy about having to purchase a fuel transfer tank for the gasoline and one for the kerosene that they used on the job.
In Hawaii, those kinds of things are not Brian’s responsibility. Bob takes care of that kind of stuff. All Brian has to do is make sure the stone and concrete work is done properly. That’s a big job but it’s what Brian loves.
And to look at his face, you can see that he’s doing what he loves.

Be prepared for photos of the work my guys are doing. I’m thinking of building an entire portfolio of Brian and the boys’ work. I just need to dig up all the pictures I have laying around here.
On a personal note, I’ve stuck to my low-carb, lots of green vegetables diet for over 2 months. I’ve lost exactly 0 pounds. I’ve been working out 5 days/week for almost a month. Nothing.
I’m ditching this diet for the next two weeks. I will not go back to refined sugar and crappy carbs but I am going to indulge in some of the yummy fruits in Hawaii. I’ll continue to work out and I’m going to try to walk a lot more while I’m there. (Walking in the snow and sub-freezing temps here ain’t gonna happen!)
Okay, later folks! And my Peeps!

There’s something big brewing at PayPerPost, the number one blog advertising marketplace on the internet. It’s all hush-hush right now but we’re told an announcement will be coming within the next two week.s
But I think I know it already.
There’s a certain Postie (an affectionate term for PayPerPost bloggers) who we’ll call, uh, Colleen. She’s been one of the most vocal cheerleaders for PayPerPost since its inception. She’s won contests, she answers questions at the forum, she’s The Top Earner, and she even turned the tables on Ted by doing a Reverse Postie Patrol on him.
Well, Miss Colleen has a number of excellent blogs. Her Simple Kind of Life is general but so entertaining. Her Buy Me Blog offers all kinds of shopping insight. GeekySpeaky has grown from just a blog to also include a link directory and an active forum. She has a couple of other blogs, about her hometown, too.
Anyway. Colleen is just so full of ideas and has proven that she is a can-do lady. She has conquered the PayPerPost world and has caught the eye of Ted and Company. And that leads to the big announcement.
I believe that Ted Murphy, CEO of PayPerPost, will be offering Colleen a nice six figure amount for her vast array of blogs. This will allow them to offer her a 7 year contract to join the Department of Customer Love at PayPerPost.
I know, you all want to know how I came to this conclusion. Just trust me on this. It’s in the stars. And it has a lot to do with that horseshoe that Colleen carries around with her. Don’t ask me where she keeps it, though.

Since I began putting more effort into my blogging, I’ve become more aware of SEO or Search Engine Optimization. It’s a complicated but ineresting topic and it’s taking me quite a while to grasp it.
Right now I’m still trying to do this on my own but I’m beginning to see how an expert in this field could help me a great deal. I know I learned a little about it from my last job. There’s just so much more to it, though.
During my searching I found several ineresting SEO Companies. I was especially impressed with Bay Street’s comprehensive offerings. They can help with everything from Google SEO to Text Link Building. Bay Street offers convenient packages at very reasonable prices, too.
The one caveat of SEO is ethics. Not every company operates by a code of ethics that ensures that your site will stay on the good side of various search engines. “Gaming” the system is not ethical. Bay Street SEO does follow a code of ethics which ensures that your search engine rankings will be honest and true.
I’m still a small time blogger but I’m not giving up on growing my reader base and increasing my page rank. I’m going to start off with Bay Street’s Guide to Search Engine Writing to learn as much as I can about this. If all goes well, next year at this time I’ll be able to take the next step and purchase one of Bay Street SEO’s packages to help my site to really take off.

I’m always trying to drive traffic to my website. I’d love for this site to move up in PR and down in Alexa numbers. I want my keywords to show up at the top of every search engine. Doesn’t every webmaster want that?
I spend a lot of time and effort working towards those goals. If you own a company or a business website, though, your best bet is to hire someone to do that kind of SEO (search engine optimization) for you. Seriously, it’s a lot of work and finding someone who knows the ins and outs of SEO is worth the money. It’ll pay for itself many times over in sales.
I’ve been looking into this for my own site and was really impressed with eTraffic Jams. At some point I need to admit that I need the help of a professional and I’m confident that this is the place to turn. eTraffic Jams is a “Pay-for-Performance” model. Basically that means that you pay for results, not promises. I like that idea.
I was especially impressed with the case study on the site. When a happy customer takes it upon himself to write the company with praise and thanks, that’s big. And the fact that eTraffic Jams brought this company a 161% increase in traffic is huge! According to the Web Manager for www.furnitureesuperstore.com, Brent Edger, this resulted in an improved bottom line.
I really need to increase traffic here and at my other sites. eTraffic Jams is at the top of my list for SEO!

Money may not be able to make you happy but it certainly can make you miserable. Or perhaps I should say the lack of money can make you miserable. The lack of money plus too many bills can be totally devastating.
I know quite a few college kids who are offered credit cards that end up destroying them. When they attempt to get a loan for that first new car or for a first home, they find they can’t afford the cost of Bad Credit Mortgage Loans although that’s all that’s available to them. It’s a tough place to be at such a young age. Just ask my son.
CreditLoan.com offers sound advice for repairing your credit rating. I’ve looked over the credit card information and I’m taking notes on that. We’ve always been very careful about credit cards and have purposely kept our limits low so as not to be tempted to overspend. Nevertheless, it’s good to find other advice because credit cards can be tricky. I’m especially naive about airline miles associated with credit cards.
If you read nothing else at CreditLoan.com, be sure to check out the article on Predatory Lending Scams. I know that we’ve been tempted in the past to consider a home equity loan. If you have, too, read through the advice here. You won’t regret it.

I spent a lot of time being my own boss. I was a stay-at-home mom, after all. But I also spent 7 years as an employee and I know that I’d still be at that job if it had been run properly.
Seriously, when Employee Evaluations are decided based on how willing you are to cover for the manager who takes too many days off, you know things are bad. Software that helps track that kind of behavior and assists in the business owner’s decision-making regarding personnel will save the company money in the long run.
From Recruitment and Training to Performance Reviews, this software gives Managers excellent control and allows Business owners to monitor their managers as well. Needless to say I particularly like the Attendance feature and wish this software had been a part of my last job.
Any business wanting to move forward and grow needs to invest in the best people possible. Manager Assistant, with its excellent support and reasonable pricing will help to ensure you achieve that goal.
