It’s Football Season!

We are a football family. It isn’t just because we have 5 sons, either. I loved football before I met my husband. It was one Sunday afternoon in front of the black & white set in our living room, watching the Steelers with my dad that hooked me. I was mesmerized when Lynn Swann seemed to fly through the air to pull down a Bradshaw pass. That play took my breath away and made me a fan forever.

LeviSo despite hating cold weather I love this time of year. Football makes the impending winter almost bearable. Friday nights are high school football, Saturday is college. Sunday is the NFL plus a middle school game now that my youngest son is playing for the Jr. Dons. That’s Levi playing defense, #20.

Of course, afternoon football is a family thing around here. For Levi, that means he has a crowd all by himself. Besides his parents, there’s 5 siblings, three Significant Others of his siblings, his grandparents, his nephew Steven and his niece Kendyll. Many times there’s also his Aunt Monette and Uncle Tim, too. Sometimes his cousins, like Jake. Yes, we love football. Okay, so Kendyll and Steven aren’t quite sure what football is, except that Uncle Levi plays it. But they do have fun.

And then there’s high school football…..
