Telling Time
By Marisa | April 12, 2008
Kids are hilarious! Of course, my granddaughter Kendyll is also a genius, just because she’s my granddaughter. But you all knew that, right?
Kendyll was following me around today, getting into anything she could find. Nick was trying to get the insulation put back in the ceiling of the garage - it had fallen out months ago - so I tried to keep Kendyll occupied. Finally, I took her upstairs to help me clean out the hall closet.
Now keep in mind that the upstairs hall closet is used mostly for storage of things we don’t use often but might need someday. Like most of Maggie’s doll collection. Or a few boxes of little boy size 5 denim jeans. I thought it was time to go through some of that stuff to see if there were any clothes that might fit Levi or Kendyll. You never know.
The only thing we found there was an old watch that I think belonged to Jesse. If Kendyll had not been with me, I wouldn’t have even bothered with the watch. But she was fascinated by it and insisted on playing with it. It was a man’s watch that looked like a Chopard but was really an off-brand. The battery was dead but Kendyll didn’t notice. She put it on her wrist and was just as happy as could be!
When Nick came back into the house, she held out her wrist to show him. And then she said “Time” just as plain as could be! That’s my girl, the genius.
