Gift Planning

It’s hard to believe that we’re just a month away from Mother’s Day and a couple months away from Father’s Day. Where does the time go? And what will I get my parents this year?

My mom doesn’t care for jewelry or clothes. She’s got enough knickknacks to last a lifetime. She’s a practical person, mostly. Right now I’m thinking about getting her some books on tape for her car. No, her car does not have a CD player in it. I’d get her an MP3 player but she’s still not sure how to use the CD player on her stereo. Books on tape sound like the best bet.

My dad is a little easier, really. Last Christmas I gave him wine and he was happy for days! I was thinking that this year for Father’s Day I’d get him a set of very nice wine glasses. I like the Riedel Sommeliers collection and I think my dad would, too.

Perhaps the biggest challenge this year, though, will be buying for my husband. How will the kids give him a gift when he’s in Hawaii? Oh, wait! Maybe I’ll just have to hop a plane with the kids to hand deliver whatever it is they buy him. Yeah, I like that idea.
