I’m going to guess George Bush. The first George Bush, not the idiot we have stuck in office today -lol- because there was so much scuffle between him and Hussain and we had the Gulf War, you know the war that people always forget about.

I’m thinking it’s Woodrow Wilson. The US was very isolationist right before World War I (“The Great War”).

Okay, I am embarrassed to say this, but I am just about half/inch short of a masters’ degree in history. My only excuse for my ignorance in this one is that I’ve been out of the classroom a few years and haven’t gone back to finish the degree.

Oh, and I specialized in Mexican history in the master’s program.

Enough excuses. My best guess:

1. The president would be FDR.
2. The war would be World War II.

OR (do we get two guesses?)

1. The president was Richard Nixon.
2. The war was Vietnam.

Nah, I’ll go with my first guess. It just doesn’t feel right for Vietnam and Nixon because we were in the thick of it with Nixon.

Maybe LBJ and Vietnam?

Nah. I give up. I’ll bookmark your site just to get back here for the answer! LOL!
