Rearranging The Pack Rat Way

What do I do on Saturdays? Clean house! Except that I don’t like to clean house. That’s why when I must perform like a good housekeeper I often go into my office and organize. Yes, I dust and vacuum. I even take my computers apart and vacuum them a little. Of course, I keep the door closed and locked so that no one really knows what I’m doing except for the occasional roar of the Oreck or Shop Vac. I’m so sly.

Anyway, I found some interesting things today when I cleaned out my cabinet. For one thing, I found an old copy of Windows 2000. No idea why I hung on to that but I guess since the machine it was install on is now cannibalized and parted out into a half dozen other machines, I’m free to install the OS on a whole different machine. Or does MS require that I destroy the OS and buy new, so as not to deprive them of their fair share of my hard earned income?

I also found some old freeware games, a couple of disks with DOS programs (yes, they were floppy disks!), some business performance management software that we tested at my old job, and about a gazillion CDs from MaximumPC magazine.

Don’t tell anyone but I didn’t actually throw any of it away. I just rearranged it to fit better in my cabinet. I’m a pack rat, you know.
