Coffee At Last

I usually go to the Kroger store that’s about 10 minutes from here. It’s not all that big but it has a nice selection. Except for coffee, that is. I’m always dismayed that the only coffee there is ground, canned except for a few bags of whole bean that’s really nothing special.
I have to drive a little farther to have a better selection and I did just that on Friday. I was tired, it was late. I didn’t really want to drive the extra distance. I just had to have some good coffee, though. And now I do. I picked up a bag of moderately priced Hazelnut coffee – the only flavored coffee I like – and a bag of Sumatra coffee, both whole bean. I love coffee that’s been just freshly ground. I have to thank Bobbi for telling me about Sumatra coffee, since I’d never heard of it until she mentioned it. I still love Kona but around here all I can find is a Kona blend. That’s just not good enough once you’ve had 100% Kona.
I’ve been using a Bunn coffee maker for about 20 years now. I love the (almost) instant
gratification that a Bunn delivers. I’ve looked at a few espresso machines, too, and might get one eventually. I figure no real coffee aficionado would be without one, right?
So anyway, I now have my hazelnut coffee, my Sumatra coffee and my big mug all ready. If you notice that I’m blogging at 2am, you’ll know that it’s because I’m going a little overboard with my special treat. I really need to keep a steady supply to avoid this kind of coffee binge!

Hi Marisa -
So, you’ve become attached to Sumatra coffee. Turns out you (and I) are in very good company. We heard an interview with the CEO of Starbucks not too long ago, and he was asked to name his favorite coffee variety. You know what’s coming, don’t you? He said that Sumatra is his favorite. Thought you’d enjoy knowing that little nugget. ;-}
The best coffee that I had so far is always from nescafe – not sure they have it in your country
i like it without milk or sugar just plain coffee – that would definitely brightens up my day
cheers *using coffee mug
Nothing, absolutely nothing beats freshly ground coffee! I brew a fresh cup every morning and savor every sip!
I’m not a coffee drinker and even if I have to, it will be cold. It’s proven (by me) that I can stay up all night and do all the pending chores.
I don’t like the smell; it really amazes me on how others can take 5 cups of coffee in a day. Wow, that’s too much for me; maybe I’m going to be like a zombie!
Somebody should influence me to be addicted to coffee so I can also hang-out to coffee shops. (hehehe)
