Keep A Secret?
By Marisa | December 22, 2007
Maggie and I are working on a special gift for Jesse. Don’t tell him, though, okay? You see, he’s in Hawaii and part of the gift just got here this past week. I’ve already told him there was no way it would make its way to him by Christmas. He understands.
Part of the gift is handcrafted, though. We’ve put a lot of time and energy into it and still have some work to do. I really wanted to get him a laptop so he could communicate easier with us but I just didn’t have the extra funds for that. Since he’s in Hawaii and Jesse loves all kinds of physical activities, I considered getting him something related to sun and surf like a Technomarine watch or some really nice sunglasses. In the end I opted for something sentimental that would bring him closer to all of us. Well, not as close as a plane ticket home, but almost.
Can you tell I miss my boy?

I think it was really sweet of you to try to consider what your boy really wants. But more than that, the fact that you went out of your way to do some handicrafts on the gift was sweeter. It shows how much you really want to give something special for Jesse. Im sure he’ll appreciate your effort.
Marisa, yes I can…I wish you the lottery or something close, so you can see your son whenever you want…
