I love how the rumors are flying about the next Google PR update and whether or not it will even happen. I can’t even remember all the blog posts I’ve read wondering if Google is replacing PR with something totally different. Who came up with that notion? How do those things get started and spread around so quickly? Surely, the source can’t be the article written in jest and labeled as humor? No one really took that seriously, did they?
And yet. Here I am, waiting for Google to do a PR update. This blog has been a PR5 forever, or so it seems. I’d love to inch my way up another notch. On the other hand, I’ll gladly stay where I am rather than lose a point. Simply not knowing which way my own numbers will go, if they go at all, is just a little frustrating.
And now, a semi-official word that PR updates will take place eventually but not for a few more weeks or longer. Buried down within the comments on Matt Cutts blog entry yesterday, is the hint that PR has not been abandoned and is coming, eventually.
I don’t expect a full PageRank update for at least a few more weeks, and possibly longer.
Patience, kids. It’s still around, at least for another update. Although I was kind of looking forward to the FloatIt, TripOverIt thing.

HaHaHa!!! Thanks for the link.
It is funny how many people just scanned that article and ran away screaming or jumping for joy.
It seems to have gotten people on both sides of the PR fence by playing into their fears or desires.
People are funny. Noone could possibly read the entire article and take it seriously, could they?
Anyway, thanks for the plug and thanks for reading
They sure do take forever to update pageranks.
Yes, I’m a two and I hope for a 4. But I started a new blog too and more time gives me more time to build up some traffic.
Marisa, I’m so glad you brought that up…I’m so nervous hoping
they will give me my first page rank…..
You’ll hear me hooting all over if they do…..I’m so darn
impatient..here’s hoping you go up at least one.
thanks for updated info…

On one hand I hope the update comes sooner than later. I started one blog shortly after the last update, so the PR is still at 0.
On the other hand - no update doesn’t change the way I blog. No reason for a nervous meltdown *g*.
Is very hard to get from PR5 to PR6..you need tons of high PR

links…and anyway why are you so anxious about this?
Is just about the payperpost stuff right?
I don’t think Google will ever update the Page Rank ever..it is a tool that shoot back at Google lately …but don’t worry …life is beautiful

Until now am still hoping that my forum of PR3 would be increased to PR4 in that way I can enjoy the fruit of my labor although with what is google acting now it would be hard to reach out.
