Does Anyone Bite?

I can’t believe these crazy spam emails are still around. I just got four more this week, all asking me to accept a large amount of money from some foreign national who has been exiled from his country where he is a multi gazillionaire or something. Yeah, right.

What I really want to know is if there is anyone left in this world who reads one of these scams and thinks it’s really a once-in-a-lifetime business opportunity. Seriously, does anyone even fall for this anymore? Please tell me “no.”

  • Marisa, I just found a blog called Life in The Country.org…she had some great info regarding scams..I’ll send her your site as well…. I didn’t know there were so many unscrupulous people out there? Let me know if you visit and what you think? Please mention I sent you, she just asked me to guest post and I’m flipping out with excitement. She’s from Australia.. This will help my links in a big way.. How could I get info on the November blogging convention? Or is it, something not open to everyone.?

    Regards, Dorothy from grammology

  • I’m afraid the spam e-mails are a fact of life and have been circulating for years, yes people do still fall for them although, as you say surely there can’t be many left, but how many new people are still going online each week?, they no nothing of this, I even had a few via snail mail so it’s not just the internet!

  • You mean I’m NOT gonna get all the money wired to my account from the ex-president of Zaire’s nephew’s brother’s tomcat? Man, I feel like such a fool. At least I got an offer today for some cut-price medication to help me feel better.

  • Thanks for the link to the site Dorothy. I looked it over and bookmarked it.

The PostieCon site is filled with lots of info. It’s planned to follow the BlogWorld convention. All the details are at the site.

  • There weren’t that many back when I got online over a decade ago. It just seems everyone should have heard about them by now. But I worked ISP tech support for 7 years so I know that some people just have no clue.

  • Oh, No! You’re going to get that money wired to you. They left me a message asking that you forward all your bank info and credit card numbers to me so I can expedite the process.

  • Phew! All right! I can’t wait. I emailed you all the pertinent info, plus copies of my birth certificate, Social Security Card and dental charts. Thanks, Marisa. In this day and age, it’s good to know there are still some trustworthy people out there.
