Pack Rat Joy

Oh, WOW! I was at my mom’s this past weekend while she was going through some of her “stuff.” And by stuff I mean junk. You see, my mom is a pack rat. That’s where I get that tendency although I’m much better at resisting the urge to save everything. I’ve learned to force myself to throw stuff away. Not so with my mom.
Anyway, while she was going through her junk stuff, she handed me some pens. My first thought was that these pens were so old they probably had no ink or dried ink. I must have looked confused or disinterested because my mom just told me to look at them. I couldn’t believe it. They were the personalized pens my mom had given me for Christmas when I was about 11 or 12 years old! No kidding, my mom still had those pens in a drawer in one of the bedrooms.
No, they did not write. No, I did not keep them. For a moment, though, I was happy that my mom is a packrat.

I’m such a packrat too!
We should start a support group!
Only if we don’t have to give up our stuff. maybe we could just talk about how to hide it from the people around us.
Oh my goodness, I’m such a packrat. It’s on both sides of the family, there was no hope. I’m slowly getting better about it, but there’s still alot of stupid crap I’ve attached sentimental thoughts to. Gotta purge though– I’ve got a 1 bedroom apartment!
