It doesn’t matter how many times or how many ways you try to give your kids good advice, they won’t listen to you until they’re ready. And in the case of my kids, they’re usually not ready until the very thing I’ve warned them about has happened.
Case in point, my son and the radar detector that I told him was illegal and would cause him more trouble than it’s worth. It did. He forgot to disable it when he went from a state where it’s okay to use into our own state where they’re illegal. Luckily, he got off with a warning. And even more lucky for him, I resisted saying, “I told you so.”
