On Wednesday, I drove to the Pittsburgh Airport to meet Colleen and take her into Pittsburgh for her business meeting the following day. For those of you who don’t know Colleen, you’d really be doing yourself a favor by checking out her blogs and making them a daily visit. If you want to learn about all things technical, be sure to check out GeekySpeaky.
For those who have never met Colleen, you’re really missing out. She’s every bit as capable and hard working as you might expect from knowing her online, but there’s another, interesting side to her as well. Colleen is also very soft and delicate. I think that’s what struck me first about her. She’s such an online powerhouse, writing several blogs, marketing and promoting them all while holding down a full time job and tending to her husband and three kids. I guess I expected someone much more forceful or something. But Colleen has very delicate features and a calm, self-assured attitude. Being around her is easy and fun.
After Colleen checked into the hotel room, we walked through Pittsburgh a little and it was really great seeing this city I’d known forever through a newcomer’s eyes. I guess you take things for granted if you see them all the time. Pittsburgh was always a city with bridges on every block; that didn’t seem very spectacular until Colleen pointed it out to me.
We had a late supper at SoHo’s and talked for hours when we got back to the room. I made the mistake of having a second drink which put me over the edge from tipsy to drunk. Yes, I’m a cheap date.
I’m so anxious now for PostieCon in November, so I can meet all the other great bloggers I’ve met this past year. Being with Colleen was like spending time with someone I’d known forever.
Oh, and for those who always want pictures, I took only two. I’m hesitant to post the first one because I was trying to take us together and my aim was really bad. I swear, I have two eyes! We’ll have to wait and see if any that Colleen took came out any better. Until then, here’s Colleen, moments after waking and already at her computer working.

Oh, you are SO lucky that I like you - it’s not often that I’d allow a picture of me taken first thing in the morning to be shown online!
And you know I never would have posted it if you didn’t look absolutely adorable in it.
I’m glad you guys had such a great time
I can’t wait to see you in November!
