It happened to me again. I went to the mall with my daughter and we stopped by several areas of the cosmetics department. We looked at eyeshadows and blush; we sampled lipstick and glosses. And, naturally, we lingered over the fragrances.
My daughter found several that she really liked; I found two. And both, believe it or not, were men’s fragrances! Why am I unable to find a woman’s perfume that I really like? Why am I always attracted to the men’s fragrances?
I guess florals just don’t do it for me. Vanilla, musk, amber, black pepper, all appeal to me. How do I know this? I’ve tried to blend my own special fragrance. No, I don’t have a “nose” for that. So I guess I’ll just stick with men’s fragrances for now.

Thats really weird that you would find mens instead of womens that you liked.
I think, there are a lot of fragrances which are unisex. So in modern times… its normal, I think!
I don’t think it’s that abnormal… I mean, we want our guys to smell yummy, so why would it be odd if we *gasp* LIKE these scents too?
hi Marisa, just dropping by to say hi and read this post. Actually, I fancy some men’s fragrances too and somehow, the floral ones are not fave too. I think it’s perfectly fine cos these days, it’s hard to tell which fragrance is made for which gender.
I’m the same way. I am really fond of Jil Sanders No. 4 - it’s definitely a women’s fragrance, but it doesn’t have that cloying flowery smell. I’m much more fond of sandalwood and amber than, say, rose or jasmine.
Yeah… or maybe that’s the point. Maybe I’m attracted to men’s fragrances because they remind me of….. men?
Yes, I think CK1 was unisex, wasn’t it?
Well, that sure was a logical way of seeing it! Did I overthink it again?
Oh, I agree! Clinique has one for men that I absolutely love and yet I get a headache from their Happy fragrance for women.
And glad to see you stopping by!
I’ll have to sample Jill Sanders No. 4. It seems I always go back to Clinique Aromatics Elixer because it’s just different enough.
