Locks Of Love

snipsnipsnipYes, Boomer did it. He said he was getting a Mohawk and he did it. If he had any reservations about it he never let on. The ponytail was really thick, especially when compared with the other one Lauren had waiting to be sent to Locks of Love. And there was even more hair in Boomer’s lap after she began shaving his head.

snipsnipI’ve seen Mohawks on kids and I’ve not been impressed. I never realized, though, until this haircut how perfectly shaped Boomer’s head is. I’m surprised, too, at how good he looks with this hair cut. Everyone who sees him has commented that he actually looks good in it. Not sure what that means exactly except that he’s very versatile and can pull off odd and interesting hair styles.

Plus, I think he has a really pretty face. Don’t tell him I said that.

Anyway, here are the pictures. I could have taken more but then I’d have had to get on my knees and beg. These he agreed to easily.

Pretty

Don’t you just love my dad’s face when he finally looked up from his newspaper to see Boomer’s new haircut? Priceless!

Since the day the air travel fares have shown a downward surge, there has been a decrease in even booking of cheap cruises, let alone the classy Caribbean cruise. This has also eventually led to over booked airline tickets and 100 % occupancy at even cheap hotels. Even the resorts are all taken well before time. Even the sales of car rental coupons has been affected by this.

  • Wow, that is inspiring. I might have to see if I can attempt it again.

  • I can’t get my hair to grow that long. Must be this aging thing.

  • Absolutely awesome! I love locks of love haircuts :) I’m in need of a major haircut myself and I’m thinking of going to shoulder length, if I have length below that it will go to locks for sure. Again. One summer when I was working in a stuffy no AC factory I got my hair lopped off up to my hairs from waist length! I look ridiculous with short hair though.

  • Every day, I’m more and more tempted to get this mess cut. I’m really hating my hair right now. But I don’t think it’s long enough for locks of love.

  • I love to see hair that long cut off. When I see this happen the first thing I think of is that the hair would make a nice wig. I hope that this hair was donated to a Cancer Group so that they can make it into a human hair wig.

  • Thanks for commenting Lynn. Yes, the title of the post “Locks of Love” is actually the name of the organization that accepts hair for use in wigs for cancer patients. They’re based in Lake Worth Florida and you’ll notice that I linked to their website in the post.

Boomer kept his hair growing so that he’d have enough to donate. They will accept a minimum length of 10″. When pulled straight, Boomer’s was 13.5″.
