The Countdown Begins

My husband will be home at the end of the week. Yes, I’ve missed him. No, no I haven’t missed sharing a bed with him.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my husband. But when his sleeping is so fitful and mine is erratic, that I’m dreading his tossing and turning which often ends with me on the floor. Yes, it’s that bad.

I was thinking of heading to Macy’s tomorrow to pick up some new, comfy pillows and a new comforter in the hopes that it would help him to sleep better. That, in turn, would help me to sleep better. I was remembering my gramma’s big old down pillows and comforters on all her beds and decided to do a little research. I hit the jackpot!

Down Deals is having a gigantic Down Bedding Sale right now! This is the same company that manufactures down bedding for some of the biggest names in the retail market. And they’re having a sale!! How lucky is that?

At the bottom of the main page, they have a down assistant search tool wizard that makes it really easy to find exactly what you want. I checked out the pillows and honestly, they give you so many choices that I wasn’t even quite sure what some meant. Not to worry, though. They have a comprehensive FAQ as well as a nice contact form so you can ask questions and get exactly what you need for a good night’s sleep.

I wondered about quality but saw that Down Deals is offering the same products found at department stores like Dillards, Kohl’s and yes, even Macy’s. Not only can I save time and money by shopping online but any order over $50 comes with free shipping! That makes it just too good to pass up.

I admit that bedding is one of those things that I don’t normally skimp on. (Toilet paper being another.) But buying quality items for a fraction of what I’d normally pay at the mall with free shipping, no less, is not skimping. It’s smart shopping.

Since I’m saving money on my own bedding, a little bit of girlmath easily shows that the money I save can buy new down pillows for my three youngest kids and one for my granddaughter, too. This insomniac family is going to be sleeping soundly very soon.

And now I’m really excited about my husband coming home!

  • My husband have two separate beds. I have the king, and he has a single, right next to it. The room is small so they barely fit. We do this for two reasons. One, he is a very picky sleeper and has to have his sheets just so. Second… for all four dogs to sleep with us. :)

  • Cynthia- we kind of do this. We have two seperate beds in different rooms. For the most part though we do sleep in the same bed, but when things get to be too much for me I move into the nursery which has our big TV and futon and a Canopy bed. Futon is used as a couch for the kids as it was originally the toy room.

Oh and my husband doesn’t toss and turn but he does SNORE.
