I Follow. Do You?

By Marisa | April 12, 2007

I love reading the GeekySpeaky blog. Colleen is so generous with her knowledge and helps to make all of us better bloggers. I love her for that.

And just today Colleen wrote about the DoFollow plugin that allows search engines to spider comments. I love when people comment on my blog so naturally, I want everyone to have an incentive to leave me wonderful messages. That’s why I use the DoFollow plugin and you should, too.

Below, you’ll find the D-List. These are blogs that use a DoFollow plugin. If you want to join the list, install the plugin and let someone at the top of the list know so that they can add you.

And thanks, Colleen, for turning me on to this great plugin and this terrific list!

***Begin to copy here***

1. Write a short paragraph at the beginning of your post and link back to the blog that put you on the list in the paragraph. This isn’t a suggestion. You need to break up the duplicate content. Someone took the time to add you so the least you can do is give them an extra link back.

2. Copy the list of originals below COMPLETELY and add it to your blog. If you would like a different keyword for your blog then change it when you do your post and it should pass to most blogs with that keyword.

3. Take the adds from the blog that added you and place them in the “Originals” list.

4. Add at least 1 new blog that you KNOW is using the DO FOLLOW plugin to the list in the “My Adds” section. (Add no more than 5!) Let the people you’ve added know, so that they can keep the list going!

My Adds:

My Single Mom Life
The Photo Pumpkin
Funny Stuff

The Originals:

Midlife Musings
Utterly Geek
Whatever I Feel Like
My Dandelion Patch

GeekySpeaky
Simple Kind Of Life
3DayMom
BuyMeBlog
The Hockey Dad

  14. Jimi (9 comments.) on 17.04.2007 at 21:56 (Reply)

I’m really hitting the commenting today. Everyone that added their RSS feeds to that thread on PPP are going to get hit by me often. It is a little hard to sift through now with adding them all because it shows me their posts for like the last week as being new and the same time so it pushes everything down my list, but once it settles I should be able to see the recent stuff better and respond.

  15. Marisa (0 comments.) on 17.04.2007 at 22:00 (Reply)

    Hit me, baby! ;)

Did you see I posted a link for you at PPP about the OPML creator?

Yup…I added it to the first post for future RSS addererers

    Marisa,

I have been a big fan of “no-nofollow” movement. I am not sure if you had a chance to check No-Nofollow Community over at BumpZee.com

Also, thank you for adding my blog to your technorati favorites. Favor returned.

I also use the do-follow on all of my blogs. i love the no-no-follow movement that you all started. I am going to have to add one of these post to my blog so that I can keep up with everyone. Right now, I am just trying to keep up and see where the list has gone too and how far it has stretched.

    1. Marisa (0 comments.) on 22.02.2008 at 22:40 (Reply)

I’m still amazed at how many people find me through the dofollow list! I do get a bit of spam, though, from people just looking for links. Be sure to moderate your comments to weed out the spammy stuff.

      And thanks for commenting here!
