Home At Last

We got in this evening and the kids were really excited to see us. Of course, Kendyll was the main attraction. Babies usually are.
Kendyll was really thrilled to be home, too. She was into everything! She went through all the kitchen cabinets then headed over to the DVDs and took them all off the shelves. Then she emptied out her toy box. I think she was just so happy to be home and was checking out her “space.”
Speaking of Kendyll’s space, Brit and Nick were talking about what kind of baby furniture to put in her bedroom in their apartment out back. Nick has been working hard to save money so they can finish the apartment when they return from Hawaii. Then Brit will need to pick out a bedroom set for Kendyll.
Right now, the biggest debate is about finish. Nick likes this white bedroom set but Brit and I both think that this cherry finish set would be more practical. And it has such a nice rich, look. I happen to have a similar finish on my bedroom furniture with the same low-sheen, distressed look.
And I love that these cribs grow with the child. It isn’t just a baby crib. It becomes a toddler bed, a day bed and even a twin bed! For such a small initial investment, you have furniture that will last a lifetime. We’ve gone the route of character beds (race cars!) that the kids soon outgrew. What a waste of money! Furniture this versatile is definitely a bargain!
I sure hope Nick sees it our way!
