Scrumptious Blog
By Marisa | February 28, 2007
In my travels around the interweb, I often land on blogs that pique my interest. Sometimes I spend more time on one of these blogs than I ought to, leaving the dusting and vacuuming to wait. Usually it’s because I start reading. Today, it was because my hungry belly wouldn’t let me click away.
The photos at TSLdesigns.com blog - Food Category made my mouth water. Okay, I admit that it doesn’t take much more than a picture of ice cream atop a cake for me to salivate; ice cream is my favorite, even though I can’t tolerate the sugar anymore. Still, I can enjoy a picture and reminisce about the day when ice cream was an every day treat.
Naturally, I had to keep looking at the photos; I just couldn’t look away. That’s when I spotted the most sumptious lobster I’d ever seen. Have I ever mentioned how much I love lobster? Two of my kids have requested lobster dinners for their 15th birthday. Both Chris and Boomer share my love of seafood so I was thrilled to introduce them to lobster when they asked. The picture of lobster in the TSL Design Blog brought back such happy memories of those birthday dinners I spent with my sons.
If you’ve been following my blog, you know that I’ve embarked on a personalized low carb eating plan. Besides keeping my carbs low, I’m also eating mostly chicken and other lean meat as well as a lot of green vegetables. I’m not a raw veggie eater other than lettuce so I’m always looking for ways to prepare my greens. So far I’m mostly eating asparagus, green beens, broccoli and spinach. Yesterday I had turnip greens with diced turnips and had to really season it up to get it to taste right.
I hadn’t even considered Kale, although I’ve even it before. But the great photo of green kale topped with shallots, soya sauce and oyster sauce on the TSL Designs Blog had my mouth watering. And a light bulb went off, too. Why not add Kale to my menu? And that got me thinking about Dandelion Greens, which I hadn’t had for over 3 decades! It’s getting to be that season again so I’ll have to make a point of picking some in the spring.
I’m going to keep checking back at TSL Designs Blog for other food ideas. Just looking through these pictures have given me ideas for interesting, healthy menu additions here at home. Can’t wait to see what other pictures of scrumtious food pop up here!
