I Won’t Sleep I Won’t Sleep

Kendyll seems to be following in her dad and gramma’s footsteps. She’s having sleep issues. Okay, maybe it’s just another phase. But if this is going to be a real problem, I’ll have to take the blame.

Nick has never slept through the night. I have bouts of insomnia that leave me living like a zombie. Even when the insomnia is not at its worse, I’m lucky to get 5 hours of sleep at night. Usually it’s four hours.

Now it seems that Kendyll is fighting sleep. Her eyes are pink and puffy from being so tired. She lays her head on the ground and just as she’s about to doze off, she springs back up and starts playing. Whether we try to rock her or let her fall asleep on her own in her crib, she fights sleep until she’s wide awake again.

And guess what? I get to babysit again tomorrow. Let’s hope she gets her sleep schedule back on track. Gramma needs an afternoon nap sometimes, too. :)

  • It sounds like you’re a short sleeper… but there still may be ways you can improve your quality of sleep by altering sleep hygiene and behavior. I talk about this at great length in my book. Good luck!

  • That can be a major problem with kids, they need to establish good sleep habits, or lots of other health issues can result.
