I picked Jesse up at the airport this morning. It took everything out of me not to cry when I saw him. I sure did miss him.
I was going to take him out to eat but he said he just wanted to go home and see Belle. The thing is, even with all these people in this house, Belle belongs to Jesse and me. He took me to see the litter of pups and he picked Belle out from 14 adorable little pitties. Jesse named her, too. Even though I took care of her most of the time while he was going to college, Jesse is the alpha male.
I told Jesse that he had to wait in the car until I came to the window because I had to get my camera ready. I wanted pictures of the two of them. I’m not sure which one was more excited.:)

Have you ever seen such pure joy in a dog’s face before?

All is good.

Awe those are priceless! I love them
Welcome home Jesse
Cori’s like that with Jonathan.
When he’s away, if she hears us say his name, she’ll come up to us, ears cocked, extremely expectant look on her face as if to say, “Is the boy coming home? Are we going to get the boy?”
Thanks! It’s sure good to have him back.
Aren’t dogs just the most interesting creatures? Jesse drove up to see my mom and pick up the other kids and Belle sat here sniffing Jesse’s jacket and suitcases. So funny.
Those are the sweetest pictures…I love pits. ^_^
Me, too. My favorite breed. I don’t think I’ve ever had a dog with as much personality as my pits.
I’m taking care of a pitty while her owner is out of town. She is the sweetest! She likes to sleep under the covers with her people. Also one of my favorite breeds. I am partial to rotten-weilers.
Oh, yeah. Belle thinks she’s a person. Took these two Sunday:
[...] Me (Marisa) presents My boy is home posted at Marisa’s Dandelion Patch, saying, “When my son returned home from Hawaii after 8 months, he wanted to see our Pit Bull. But it was Belle’s face in these pictures that tell the true story of a dog’s capacity to love.” [...]
great post! The pictures are priceless!
Awwwwwwwwww! That’s adorable!
Wow, that last picture is just astonishing. Love at its purest form!
Awww.. so sweet. *wipes away tears* LOL
My son moved out almost eight years ago. Old Buddy has become deaf and almost blind since then. Whenever Brad visits Buddy is suspicous at first, then gets a good sniff & realizes “his boy” is back and becomes ecstatic, just like Belle. ‘Tis a wonderful bond our canine frinds form with their families!
Have a wonderful visit with Jesse! I know just what it’s like to miss a son!
That brings tears to my eyes!
Those pictures are beautiful… the love that dogs and humans share is really amazing.
A boy and his dog…. They never forget!
