Aunt Jo

When I was very young, I used to stay with Aunt Jo on weekends. It wasn’t that my mom needed a babysiiter. I just loved staying with Aunt Jo.
When my youngest sister, Mary Beth, was born, Aunt Jo moved in with us. She’s lived at my mom’s every since.
Aunt Jo took me to Long Island New York, New Jersey and Rochester New York. She was with us in Tampa and we drove to Ft. Lauderdale to bring her home one summer. Aunt Jo did love to travel. So did I.
So do I.
Aunt Jo turned 95 this past April 15.
Today, just before 11am, Aunt Jo passed away.
My heart hurts.

Yes, I did. She never married, never had kids. Yet she somehow made each of us think that we were her special “one.”
